Heather Boxer, a life dedicated to WLAC
We are all feeling the loss of Heather Boxer's presence and leadership. These have been a difficult few months for us but Heather left a strong team and clear legacy to steer our work. Her empathy, professionalism, and hard work have been woven into the fabric of everything we do.
Remembering Heather
Friends, colleagues and family gathered at Riverside Studios to celebrate the life of our much-loved late Chief Executive, Heather Boxer, who passed away in January 2025. Around 70 guests came together to share memories, reflect on Heather’s extraordinary 45 years of dedication to WLAC, and honour the warmth, vision and compassion that shaped the charity’s heart and community. It was a moving afternoon of remembrance, gratitude and love - a real testament to the lasting impact Heather had on so many lives.
Curry & Ceilidh 2026
The Hammersmith Club hosted our third annual Scottish dancing and curry evening, which was a joyful, sell-out success - raising an incredible £5,500 (including Gift Aid) for WLAC. With lively ceilidh dancing led by Simon Wales and his band, delicious vegetarian curries, homemade brownies and a brilliant Scottish-themed raffle, it was a wonderful night of community, generosity and fun. Our heartfelt thanks go to the dedicated events committee, generous sponsors and volunteers, and everyone who took to the dance floor to help support local children and families.

It was a wonderful example of friends and neighbours coming together to have fun while supporting local children and families.
Holiday Hampers 2025
Each year, our Holiday Hampers project brings warmth, dignity and a little bit of magic to families using WLAC’s services. Lovingly prepared and delivered by our dedicated volunteers, over 90 families received thoughtfully packed hampers filled with essentials, gifts and treats - generously donated by partners including the Junior League of London, The Unicorn & Kew Green Preparatory Schools, and FitFlop. At a time of heightened financial pressure, these hampers help parents and children feel seen, valued and supported, reminding families that they are not alone during the festive season

More than forty supporters gathered to hear six expert speakers deliver fast-paced, six-minute talks on topics ranging from Bach and Edward Hopper to children’s books and the power of television. With delicious canapés, flowing conversation and a brilliant atmosphere, it was a joyful celebration of knowledge shared in support of children and young people across Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea.
