Bowling in the Park for WLAC!

What better place to be on a warm and sunny Sunday afternoon, than in your local park with friends?

In our fast-paced world with constant stimulation, connectivity and technology, people are increasingly seeking activities that offer a blend of leisure, social interaction, and health benefits. One such activity gaining popularity for its unique combination of these elements is lawn bowls. Originating in ancient Egypt, lawn bowls has evolved into a modern sport that not only provides gentle physical exercise but also fosters social connections, community spirit and mental well-being.

On 21st September, a group of around 25 supporters gathered for a fundraising event at  Ravenscourt Park bowling green, enjoyed a glass of fizz and homemade cake before they chose their teams.  Thanks to Robert Jennings (Treasurer), George Kelland (President/Chair) and Mike Haward from Ravenscourt Park Bowling Club, who were on hand to guide each group through the rudiments of the game.  There were plenty of cheers as great shots were played (and lots of laughter when they weren’t so good)!  Huge thanks to everybody who supported us and helped spread the joy of being outside.

The Ravenscourt Park Bowling Club, established in 1750, is open daily from 12:30 to 18:30 during the Bowling season, which runs from May until the end September. Large group/special events bookings with extended openings are also available.  To enquire about membership or more information, please visit www.rpbowls.co.uk

Croquet will be launched this season, and we look forward to more social events from May!
