August 2026

As summer starts to wind down, we wanted to take a moment to share everything that's been happening at WLAC — and there's a lot to celebrate. From a wonderful evening at Neighbourhood Nosh to the incredible results of our Champions for Children campaign, your generosity continues to make a real difference to the children and families we support.

We've also got plenty to look forward to, with Lightning Talks, our Annual Quiz and the return of Postcards Anon all on the horizon — plus a look at how therapy helps the whole family, a recipe from the WLAC kitchen, and our tributes to two key supporters who passed away this summer.

Thank you, as always, for everything you do.

FROM THE KITCHEN

As summer begins to wind down and we look towards cooler days, there’s nothing quite like having a pot of homemade chicken stock ready to turn into a quick, comforting meal.

Try the former Lord Mayoress of London, Florence King's recipe!

Many more tried-and-tested recipes, suggested by local people of note, can be found in WLAC’s West London Cook Book. Copies are available for £10 by contacting team@wlac.org.uk.

IN MEMORIAM

IN MEMORIAM: REMEMBERING TWO CHERISHED SUPPORTERS
