May 2026
May is Mental Health Awareness Month — and here at West London Action for Children, it's a time that sits close to our hearts. Every day, we see the reality of what poor mental health looks like for children, young people, and the families who love them. We see the strain and the struggle. But we also see the profound difference that feeling supported, heard, and connected can make.
In a world that can feel increasingly divided, it is often the most vulnerable who feel that fracture most acutely. Children and young people are growing up in a climate of anxiety, and families are navigating challenges with fewer resources than ever before. Community, then, isn't just a nice idea — it's at the core of everything we do. When a young person knows there is someone in their corner, when a family feels truly seen, that is where change begins.
It's also what we see reflected in our supporters across the two boroughs. From Lightning Talks to the London Marathon, the fundraising you do doesn't just keep our services running — it extends our reach into the wider community, to the families and young people who need us most. A closely knit group of people, quietly making a significant difference.
Thank you for all you do.
