Easter 2026

Spring is here, and with it comes a moment to celebrate the quiet but meaningful progress we have been making at WLAC. It has been a heartening start to the year — one defined by connection, resilience, and hope.

From our Rebuilding Family Lives group, offering a safe and supported space for mums who have experienced domestic abuse, to our Dads Matter course, encouraging father figures to open up about the challenges of parenthood, we have been privileged to witness real change in our community. We have also been moved by the impact of our Mighty Me group, running in a local primary school, where children have been discovering their inner strengths — with parents telling us they have noticed a real change in their children's happiness.

In a world that can feel increasingly unsafe, we are proud to be a place where families find the tools, the understanding, and the community they need to thrive. Thank you for your invaluable support in enabling us to do this vital work.

From everyone at WLAC, we wish you a wonderful holiday weekend.

TEAM NEWS

THANK YOU

A huge thank you to L'Oréal, based in White City, for mailing over a thousand copies of our Impact Report: 2023-2025 to supporters and funders. The report brings to life the real difference your support makes, through powerful stories like Haruko's — a mother who has navigated domestic violence and the challenges of raising two children with complex health conditions. Her story, and others like it, speak for themselves.

THE HOLIDAY TABLE

Simnel cake used to be associated with Mothering Sunday which, falling in the middle of Lent, was a welcome break from 40 days of fasting. Rosemary Mortimer of Brackenbury Residents Association recommends Mary Berry's recipe as 'fail safe and delicious'. Many more reliable recipes suggested by local people of note can be found in WLAC's West London Cook Book (copies available for £10 by contacting team@wlac.org.uk).
