This year’s Bridge Evening was a triumph, and helped to raise over £2,650 for WLAC.
Congratulations to our overall winners, Rosemary Perrett and Miles Watson with a score of 4560, and well done to the First Grand Slam winners, Sandy and Derek Chase. The ‘winning a trick with a 2’ helium balloon prize created quite an excitement as it moved around the hall all evening and was eventually won by Charlie Boyd.
Our huge thanks go to Edmund Sixsmith, who organised the event, ensuring it ran smoothly and everyone had a fantastic evening. Thank you also to Bective Leslie Marsh for their help in setting up the event, and their donation of wine. Last but not least our very great thanks to the Brook Green Events Group who worked so hard on the evening, and produced a wonderful feast for our guests.
Thank you to everyone who came along and supported WLAC. We look forward to seeing you next year!
On Monday 14th December we were delighted to sing carols at Hammersmith Broadway to raise money for WLAC.
Beautifully led by Caroline Bowden, our fantastic choir-master, and armed with musical accompaniment from Christine Thornton and her keyboard, our choir of volunteers and staff serenaded the Monday evening commuters of West London for nearly 2 hours. With joyful faces all around, and some commuters even joining in, the event was a great success, and helped to raise over £273.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, and all those who listened and so generously donated.
