A huge well done to our 6 runners who successfully completed the British 10K London Run on the 12th July, raising over £2,900 for West London Action for Children. Billed as the “world’s greatest road race route”, this exciting 10km run took in central London landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, St Paul’s Cathedral, Tower Bridge and the London Eye. The running conditions were perfect and our runners came home in excellent times to celebrate with a picnic in St James Park.
The WLAC Brook Green Tennis Tournament proved once again to be a great success. Over 40 players took part, keeping all ten courts busy for much of the night, and raising over £1,000 for WLAC. A special well done to our winners on the evening, Gitte and Mario, who are the very talented recipients of the Tennis Tournament Cup!
Our very special thanks to Richard and Sophie for all their help organising the evening; St Paul’s Girls’ School for kindly offering us the use of their tennis courts and setting the area up so nicely for us; Brianna and everyone at Bective Leslie Marsh for their sponsorship and hard work on the evening, and to all the Brook Green Events Committee who continue to work tirelessly to help raise funds, and the profile of WLAC, in the local area.
We are delighted to have been selected as the Ten Acres Residents Association’s Charity of the Year, and were able to take part in their wonderful annual street party. Vibrant face paints, a wonderful raffle, and a steel band all helped to lend a great party atmosphere to the proceedings. The weather rewarded us, and the evening was a fantastic, sunny, event. Thank you to everyone at TARA for choosing to support WLAC in this way.
Congratulations and a very big thank you to our wonderful team of cyclists who rode 100km through the night to raise money for West London Action for Children. Clear weather and fantastic camaraderie helped to make the evening an enjoyable (if tiring!) experience. There are spaces for next year, so do get in touch if you, and maybe a group of friends, fancy taking up the challenge…
A heartfelt thank you to the teams from Lloyds Banking Group and the Junior League of London who painted three of our client family’s flats in May. In our experience, these types of projects have a profoundly positive impact on the client family and are also very rewarding for the teams who donate their time and energy for the day. If you are part of a team that might be interested in donating your time to help our clients do get in touch at email@example.com. We would love to hear from you.
