The 90th Anniversary Appeal Launch Reception
The 18th October saw West London Action for Children hosting a reception for its supporters and new Patrons at the House of Lords. It was a fabulous evening, attended by over 90 guests. Our Guest Speaker, Baroness Linklater, spoke passionately about the need for services for children. The 90th Anniversary Appeal hopes to raise £100,000 towards growing West London Action for Children’s services around the 2 boroughs and securing ourselves permanent accommodation. The House of Lords Reception has already raised over £10000 towards this target. We would like to thank all who attended and also those who kindly donated towards the event.
Record number of ParentWise Parent
You can imagine our surprise when 22 parents came in through the door to attend this terms 1st session of ParentWise. The largest group to date had only been 10 so the facilitating therapist, Jennifer Allen really had her hands full communicating to 22 parents, who had all walked through the door with 22 different reasons for being there. The Blue Room, our newest and biggest therapy room was crammed with parents from all backgrounds, listening to Jennifer explain the goals of the group and helping them start the journey to becoming wiser and more confident parents. The group will run for 4 weeks and no doubt will be running again next term to sell out audiences again!
