Race Across America

Charlie Pearch's team, 'Convicts of the Road' came in third in their class (and sixth overall) in the Race Across America.  They came in a day in advance of where they thought they might be.  They easily beat Steve Redgrave’s team (and many others), so they have done a fantastic job.   

Over 3,000 miles in high temperatures, going in a non stop relay – and the only problem they had was one puncture and one broken chain, so congratulations to their support team too.   Congratulations and thank you Charlie.   Your team look as though they could do it all over again but I am sure there must be some sore limbs and drooping eyelids!  We look forward to celebrating with you.

Convicts of the Road key statistics:

• Crossed the official finish line at 0.12 hrs in Annapolis, Maryland,
  Saturday 19th June 2010
• Completed RAAM in 6 days, 6 hours and 44 minutes
• Completed the 3,005 miles distance at a speed of 19.94 mph, including
  100,000 feet ascent
• The 3rd fasted 8-man team, 6th fastest team overall, and the fastest British team
